How can I prevent my Facebook Account from getting hacked?
Why is it important to protect your Facebook Accounts?
- 300,000+ Facebook accounts are hacked every single day
- Facebook isn’t always able to recover a hacked account - it’s better to prevent your account from being hacked
- 65% of people use the same password for various accounts

1) Multiple Admins
Add Multiple Admins (people you trust - like staff and leaders) to your Facebook Page + Ads Account. This helps in case your personal account gets hacked or removed

2) Two-Factor Authentication
Make sure every admin on your page has Two-Factor Authentication turned on on their Facebook Profile. This protects your account if you use the same password on multiple websites or if someone guesses your password. Facebook will send every new login an authentication code at your phone number or in an authenticator app

3) Watch for Spam Messages
Watch out for Spam Messages making it seem like your account is disabled. NEVER click on any links in Facebook Messages or Emails.
If your account does actually get disabled, you will see that status update inside your account itself. When in doubt, log into the account to look for error messages
Common signs of spam:
- Abbreviating Facebook to “FB”
- Email comes from a weird email address
- Link is not a Facebook link (example includes “fanpageinformation.com” in URL)
- Message is from “Facebook User” or “Account Disabled”
- Typos in message
If you're not sure if it's spam, ask someone else (in a Facebook Group or email the Church Fuel team). 9/10 times it is spam.
