🥳 How do I see my Google Ads and their performance?

📊 How to Check & Understand Your Google Ad Grant Performance

Hey church fam! 👋

This guide will walk you through how to find your ads, see what’s running, and understand how they’re performing — without feeling overwhelmed or techy 🤓

Let’s dive in! Here is VIDEO if you'd prefer!

🌟 First Things First: The Dashboard Magic

If your Churchfuel dashboard is already built — amazing! 🎉

If not, no stress at all. Our team is actively building it for you, and you can still see everything directly inside your Google Ad Grant in the meantime.

Either way, you’re covered 💪

🖥️ PART 1: Using the Churchfuel Dashboard

What you’ll see

Once you’re inside the dashboard, you’ll notice lots of numbers. Totally normal 😄

Some churches run Facebook Ads + Google Ads, so you may see both types of data mixed together.

Helpful things to look for

• A breakdown of Google Ads vs Facebook Ads

• Your top-performing Google Ads

• Visitor activity on your website

✨ Pro tip: This dashboard gives you the big-picture view — all the good stuff in one place.

📅 Set the Right Date Range (This Is Important!)

You’ll usually want to look at the last 30 days. Why?

Because that time frame gives the clearest picture of what’s actually working 👍

You’ll see this option near the top of the screen.

📈 PART 2: Google Ad Reports Inside the Dashboard

Where to click

  1. Click Reporting
  2. Select Google Ad Reports
  3. Set the date range to Last 30 Days
  4. Click the checkmark to apply it

Boom 💥 — now the numbers will line up correctly.

What you’re looking at

Every campaign and ad you see here is:

• Built by our team

• Managed by our team

• Optimized regularly by our team

You don’t need to touch a thing 🙌

🔍 PART 3: Inside Your Actual Google Ad Grant

Now let’s jump directly into Google Ads.

Step-by-step

  1. Log into your Google Ad Grant
  2. Click Campaigns
  3. Select Overview
  4. Set the date range to Last 30 Days

Google sometimes remembers old date settings, so always double-check this 👀

📊 What These Numbers Mean (In Plain English)

Here’s what you’ll typically see:

Clicks

How many people clicked your ad and landed on your website.

Impressions

How many people in your community saw your ad.

Click-Through Rate (CTR)

The percentage of people who saw your ad and actually clicked it.

• 1–2% = totally normal

• Around 5% = 🔥 AMAZING 🔥

Don’t panic if you’re new — Google Ads build momentum over time. The longer your campaign runs, the better it gets 🚀

Cost

This is Google’s money — not yours 🙌

Some churches are using thousands of dollars each month from the grant, which is exactly what we want.

🛠️ PART 4: Campaigns & Ad Groups (What’s Running?)

This section lets you see:

• The ad groups we’re running

• The themes and titles of your ads

• How many ads are active

Each ad group usually includes:

• Two main ads

• Multiple variations (Google rotates them automatically)

You may see 20+ ads running at once, which is totally normal and a good thing 👍

✨ Tip: Our campaigns usually include church-related language so you can easily tell which ones are ours.

👀 PART 5: “Why Don’t I See My Own Ads?”

Great question — this is intentional!

Google does NOT show you your own ads because:

• You’re unlikely to click them

• That can hurt your ad performance 😬

But don’t worry — you can preview them safely.

How to preview your ads

  1. Click Ads
  2. Scroll down
  3. Click the blue Preview Ads button

You’ll be able to see:

Mobile view 📱 (how people see it on their phones)

Desktop view 💻 (how it looks on a computer)

Once you’re done, just exit the preview.

🧪 PART 6: Asset Groups (The New & Fancy Stuff)

Google is always changing things — and we stay on top of it 👏

Asset Groups are a newer type of ad that our team is actively testing, learning, and optimizing.

Here you’ll see:

• Multiple asset groups

• Different headlines and descriptions

• Strong performance over time

This is part of how we keep your ads improving month after month 📈

❤️ Final Thoughts

You don’t need to understand everything — that’s our job 😉

Your role is just to:

• Know where to look

• Understand what the numbers generally mean

• Celebrate that people in your community are finding your church 🎉
