How To: Adjust Custom Values

Video: How to Adjust Custom Values in Church Fuel Software

What This Solves

Custom Values are what personalize your Church Fuel account. They power your church name, service times, addresses, images, and language across workflows, emails, texts, and landing pages. Instead of updating the same information in multiple places, you can change one value and have it update everywhere automatically.

What You’ll Learn

  • What Custom Values are and why they matter
  • Where Custom Values live in your account
  • How to update service times, names, addresses, and contact info
  • How Custom Values power workflows, forms, and landing pages
  • How to swap images globally or change them on a single page
  • How to preview and confirm changes safely

Quick Steps

1) Understand Custom Values

Custom Values are placeholders that automatically pull your church’s information into the system.

Examples include:

  • Church name
  • Service times
  • Address
  • Lead pastor name
  • Welcome or background photos

When a workflow or page uses something like {{custom.church_name}} , Church Fuel inserts the correct information automatically.

2) Find Where Custom Values Live

Click Settings in the lower-left corner.

Select Custom Values.

You will see a list of all Custom Values in your account.

Use the search bar to quickly find what you need, such as:

  • service
  • name
  • welcome

You can switch between list view and folder view if helpful.

3) Update a Custom Value

Search for the Custom Value you want to change, for example, service times.

Click the three dots next to the value and select Edit Custom Value.

Update the text.

Example: change “Sunday at 10:00 AM” to “Sundays at 9:00 and 10:30 AM.”

Click Update.

Changes apply across your entire account. Allow a few seconds for everything to sync.

4) See How Updates Apply Everywhere

Any workflow, email, text, or landing page that references that Custom Value will update automatically.

This prevents missed updates and keeps information consistent without manual edits.

Service time changes are the most common example.

5) Adjust Photos Using Custom Values

Many landing pages use Custom Values for images, such as welcome photos.

To find an image value:

  • Search for keywords like welcome in Custom Values
  • Open the value to see the image link

That link points to an image stored in Media Storage.

6) Swap an Image Globally

Go to Media Storage → Brand → Branded Photos.

Upload a new image or select an existing one.

Click the three dots and choose Get Link.

Copy the link.

Return to Custom Values, find the image value, and click Edit.

Paste the new image link and click Save.

That image will now update everywhere it is used.

7) Change an Image on a Single Page Only

If you want to change an image on just one landing page:

  • Open the page
  • Click the image
  • Replace it manually using the media picker

Use caution:

  • Large or unoptimized images slow load times
  • Slow pages can reduce Google Grant ad performance
  • When possible, use images from your Branded Photos folder

8) Why Custom Values Were Preloaded

During setup, your team completed a Custom Values form.

That information was imported so workflows, emails, texts, and templates were personalized from day one.

Notes

  • Custom Values are the backbone of consistency in your account. Update once instead of chasing changes everywhere.
  • Always use Media Storage for images to keep them optimized for speed.
  • If you change URLs or event names, update the related Custom Value so links stay accurate.
  • For brand-wide image changes, edit the Custom Value. For one-off changes, edit the page directly.
