How to Change a Photo or Logo in the Software

Video Explanation:

Updating and optimizing church photos is crucial for a professional website that loads quickly and is SEO-friendly. Follow this step-by-step guide to switch out your photos using the Church Fuel software.

Step 1: Optimize Your Photos

Before uploading new images to your site, they must be optimized for size, aspect ratio, and SEO.

  1. Download New Photos: Save your new images from your Google folder or another storage location.
  2. Use the Photo Optimizer: Visit churchfuel.com/photos  .

Enter Church Details: Provide your church’s name and physical address. This information is used for geotagging, which helps with local SEO.

Crop and Label: * Upload your photo to the optimizer.

    • Adjust the crop to a 16:9 aspect ratio.
    • Label the photo (e.g., "Pastor Family," "Kids Fun").
  3. Process and Download: Click Process All Photos and then Download All Zip.

Note: Optimization is essential for reducing large file sizes (e.g., 10 MB) that can slow down your website.

Step 2: Upload to Media Storage

Once your photos are optimized, they need to be stored in the Church Fuel software.

  1. Navigate to Media Storage in your Church Fuel account.
  2. Open the Brand folder.
  3. Select an existing folder like Additional Photography or create a new one to keep your files organized.
  4. Upload your optimized photos to this folder.

Step 3: Update Custom Values

Instead of editing the website page directly, use Custom Values to update images across your site.

  1. Go to Settings and select Custom Values.
  2. Search for "photo" to see a list of photo-related values.
  3. In a separate tab, go to your Media Storage, find the new photo, and select Get Link.
  4. Return to the Custom Values list, click the three dots next to the value you want to change (e.g., Family Photo  ), and select Edit.
  5. Replace the existing URL with your new link and click Update.

Step 4: Verify the Changes

After updating your custom values, visit your website to ensure the new photos are displaying correctly on your pages.
