How To: Set Up Voicemail and Call Forwarding

Video: Setting up your Voicemail / Call Forwarding

Purpose

This article shows you how to forward calls from your Church Fuel phone number to another number you already use, or set up voicemail so callers can leave a message inside the system. You will learn where to find phone number settings, how to enable or disable forwarding, and how to customize voicemail behavior so nothing gets missed.

When to Use This

Use this when you need to:

  • Forward calls from your Church Fuel number to your office line or personal phone
  • Turn off call forwarding and use voicemail inside Church Fuel instead
  • Upload a custom voicemail greeting
  • Adjust how long the phone rings before voicemail answers

Prerequisites

Before you begin, confirm you have:

  • Access to Settings in the Church Fuel software
  • Permission to manage Voice / Phone Numbers
  • The phone number you want to forward calls to (if using call forwarding)
  • A voicemail audio file ready to upload (if using voicemail)

Steps

1) Open Phone Number Settings

  1. Log in to the Church Fuel software.
  2. Click Settings on the left-hand side.
  3. Go to Voice / Phone Numbers.
  4. Find the phone number you want to adjust.
  5. Click the three dots on the right side of that number.
  6. Select Edit Configuration.

2) Forward Calls to Another Number

  1. In the Forwarding field, enter the phone number you want calls to go to (example: your church office line).
  2. Click Save.

Incoming calls will now route directly to that number.

3) Use Voicemail Instead of Forwarding

  1. Remove the forwarding number so the Forwarding field is blank.
  2. Click Save.
  3. In the left menu under Phone Numbers, click Advanced Settings.

    Click Voicemails.

Set your Incoming Call Timeout (how long the phone rings before voicemail picks up).

    • Twelve to fifteen seconds usually feels right.
  4. Upload your voicemail audio file.
  5. Click Save Call Settings.
  6. Test it by calling the number from your phone.

Notes

  • If you want voicemail to work, the Forwarding field must be blank.
  • You can adjust the timeout later if the ring feels too short or too long.
  • After setting voicemail, make one test call to confirm everything works the way you want.
